Description
This project explores the artistic heritage created by two women exiled from the Spanish Civil War in Latin America to explore the degree of commitment that persists in their diaspora. Using artwork as the primary source of study, it seeks to deduce the impact historical events have on their work, as well as the degree of social commitment professed in defense of their fellow human beings. It also explores the networks of contacts and alliances they forged during those years, in order to demonstrate how, through commitment, they created their social circles, achieving autonomy and independence. This project thus breaks with the subservient narrative of history, which perceives them as the traveling companions of exiles.
