Description
Writing of a study on the parish church of Sant Esteve de Bordils. The church of Bordils is dedicated to Sant Esteve. It was built during the second half of the 16th century. It is in late Gothic style with Renaissance details. It has an octagonal bell tower, with high pointed openings, gargoyles and balusters. The facade is ornamented and the door is decorated. The interior of the temple is structured in a central nave and three side chapels on each side. In the first chapel you can see Sant Esteve, patron saint of the parish. On the high altar there is a cross, although before there had been images of Sant Esteve, Sant Antoni and Sant Isidre. The church has undergone several restorations since its construction. The first, in the mid-18th century, when the church vault was repaired, placing reinforcing braces to reinforce it. And it would not be until the end of the 20th century that a new restoration would take place, specifically, between 1994 and 1995, when the main facade and the pinnacles were restored, as well as the gallery, and two new gargoyles were built in the image of those that had been built there.
