Description
This activity aims to bring the archaeological heritage of livestock farming closer to the public and highlight the archaeological research carried out by archaeologists from the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology in the area around the Ter and Freser Headwaters Natural Park.
The proposal is based on a previous initiative, the project Integrated analysis on transhumance activities in the Eastern Pyrenees: enhancing mountain Cultural Landscapes, developed within the framework of the SUMA 3R program and promoted by the CERCA institution (Research Centers of Catalonia). One of the objectives of this project was to carry out the first actions to heritageize the high mountain cultural landscapes in the area of ??the Núria, Coma de Vaca and Coma del Freser valleys. These actions have been coordinated between the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICAC) and the Catalan Institute for Research in Cultural Heritage (ICRPC) and have allowed the creation and design of heritage itineraries around these valleys, as well as the carrying out of heritage discovery actions open to the public and local agents, carried out during the summer of 2017.
