Description
One of the greatest historical demands directed at museums from different disciplines and fields of knowledge has been the need to improve their relationship with their visitors. However, little attention has been paid to visitors' opinions on the future of museums. Through a questionnaire survey of 685 participants, the research project "PUBLICUM. Audiences in Transformation.
New Forms of Spectator Experience and Their Interactions with Museum Management" (HAR2017-86103-P), funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, addresses the public's perspective on the future of museums. The analysis of the information contained in the questionnaires shows the degree of agreement between the theoretical framework presented and the selected participants. Three independent variables were used to further analyze the data: gender, age, and level of importance given to museums.
