Eduard Caballé Colom

PhD in History from Universitat de Girona (2024) with the qualification of excellent cum laude. Graduated in History from Universitat de Girona (2013-2017) and obtained an official master's degree in Cultural Management from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (2017-2018).

His main research focuses on the safeguarding of heritage during the Civil War and the actions of the Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional during the early Francoist period. This was the subject of his doctoral thesis, El «Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional» y el control franquista del patrimonio en Cataluña durante la Guerra Civil. Agentes militarizados, asesores, propaganda y burocracia en la «Comisaría de la Zona de Levante» (1938-1940). He has worked on the project Repertori de fonts, documents i dades sobre la incautació, concentració, catalogació, inventari, salvaguarda i trasllat del Patrimoni Artístic Català durant la Guerra Civil (1936-1939), directed by Joaquim Nadal i Farreras (2020). He was part of the editorial team for the projects Documentació del retorn i devolucions de patrimoni artístic per part del SDPAN (2021) and El patrimoni artístic, científic, etnològic i arqueològic, salvat per la Generalitat republicana durant la Guerra Civil i lliurat en dipòsit als museus catalans pel govern franquista. Estat de la qüestió i proposta d’actuació (2023).

He is a member of the Grup d'Art del Renaixement i del Barroc a Catalunya (GARB) (2021 SGR 00139) and is part of the R&D project El impacto de la guerra civil en la configuración de los museos en Catalunya. Trazabilidad, localización y destino de los bienes culturales salvados, funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, the Agencia, and the Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (Project (PID 2021-124518NB-I00) funded by MCIN /AEI /10.13039/501100011033/FEDER, UE), as part of the Proyectos de generación de conocimiento del Programa Estatal para Impulsar la Investigación Científico-Técnica.

At ICRPC, he has worked on topics related to cultural heritage and peace in conflict zones within the framework of the Subvencions del Memorial Democràtic de la Generalitat de Catalunya (2019). He was part of the ICRPC working team in drafting reports for Vies Verdes de Girona (2020-2021). He was also a contributing author for the plan El Patrimoni Cultural de Ferrocarril de la Generalitat de Catalunya. Diagnosi i proposta d’actuacions (2020-2021). Additionally, he worked as a researcher on the project GUERRA CIVIL Y REPRESIÓN EN LOS FERROCARRILES CATALANES. Los procesos de depuración de agentes en la Compañía General de los Ferrocarriles Catalanes (CGFC) y en la Compañía del Ferrocarril de Sarrià a Barcelona - Ferrocarriles de Cataluña (FSB-FFC) (2023).
