Entre la curiosidad y la utilidad

Xavier Ulled Bertran

The Salvador family's curiosity cabinet in Barcelona was located in the back room of the family pharmacy from the first third of the 17th century to the second third of the 19th century, undergoing the various changes that naturalist collecting spaces underwent. This book deals with the final phase of the family's collecting activity, led by José Salvador y Soler (1804-1855), who was primarily responsible for transforming the cabinet into the Salvador Museum, a space open to the general public and a tool for promoting the owner's economic activities linked to agriculture and horticulture.
