Description
From 2013 to 2018, the Department of Anthropology at Laval University led this ethnographic study that allowed, in particular, to describe organizations that move away from the usual model reported by government indicators. These activities are based on local dynamism to implement them. They are rooted in the territory and in solidarity with the populations that occupy them. They aim to protect, conserve and improve the components of nature and biodiversity through ecological practices, based on diverse, committed and vibrant relationships with nature. Knowing and understanding these initiatives allows us to understand the vibrant life of the Bas-Saint-Laurent region from a different perspective, beyond the statistical frameworks and quantitative, economic and bureaucratic observations to which we are often exposed with respect to this region.
