PROJECTS

General description

Museums have now been included on family and school agendas as places of culture to visit. Although children tend to visit museums with school, parents are also gradually accompanying them and taking active part in museum activities, exhibitions and areas of culture. Work done in the nineteen-nineties to create educational departments is gradually bearing fruit although there is still a long way to go before museums are appealing enough for children to be able to enjoy the items on exhibition and for their message to be presented in the right language. Museum rhetoric is mainly aimed at an adult public, which must then interpret it for children.

This research is intended to analyse children’s behaviour patterns in Girona’s different museum spaces.
