The volume marks the beginning of a new stage within the Studies on the Rural Wold in the Roman Period series and the corresponding annual Round Tables that constitute its basis. To begin this new stage, it was considered convenient to focus on the theme related to the museumization and presentation to the public of Roman villas. The contributions that are collected offer a complete diagnosis of the state in which most of the rural deposits of the studied areas are located and, also, a broad overview of the various solutions applied in the fields of protection, consolidation, restoration and presentation of archaeological remains. nSome of the experiences presented provide, finally, also some elements to assess the implementation of visitor services and customer service and, therefore, to assess to what extent we can make archaeological research socially and economically profitable.
